Believe it or not, Pentecost is next Sunday!
If you didn't get a chance to see Cardinal Dolan's press conference yesterday, please go to the link (below) to hear about the Archdiocese's Faith Forward plan to return to church. You'll also find a link there to download details of the plan. This is just the beginning of the process but I hope it will give you some sense of the complications that are ahead of us. As we approach the celebration of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles at Pentecost, perhaps we might pray that wisdom will be granted His Eminence and all the pastors of the Church,
Mass for the Seventh Sunday in Easter will be streamed this Sunday at 11:00 am on the parish web site. (link below)
Don't forget, next Saturday, May 30th, from 11 am to 1 pm, we're hoping to restock our food pantry shelves to help our neighborhood families who find themselves needful at this present time. Because it's recommended that donated items be allowed to stand for 72 hours, the Knights of Columbus will set up a staging area in front of the old school at our St. Thomas campus. PLEASE DO NOT BRING FOOD TO THE CHURCH DURING THE WEEK! IT ENDANGERS THOSE WHO HAVE TO REMOVE IT. Details can be found in the parish website or bulletin (link below).
Let's continue to pray for those who are suffering because of the pandemic - the unemployed and the underemployed, the sick, and those enduring any form of hardship; for our health care workers in hospitals and nursing facilities and in the home; the essential workers and first responders who serve us each day; for those who serve us in the military in conflicts overseas and FOR ONE ANOTHER!
In Christ's Love,
Father Rees, Father John, Father Bob, Deacon Tony, Deacon Joe, Deacon John, and Deacon Len.
